The Internet has changed the way we live our lives. Search engines like Google now give us access to a wealth of information and resources that was simply unavailable only 10 years ago. Social networking websites like Facebook let us keep in touch with family and friends all over the world at the click of mouse; and online auction sites like eBay now allow us to buy and sell from small home businesses and individuals. But perhaps the biggest impact of the Internet on our lives has been the opportunity given to us to compare and buy products and services online from virtually anywhere in the world in a secure shopping store. This is thanks largely to website Security Certification firms like Verizon and McAfee which have given large corporations like Amazon, Sony, Wal-Mart and Target the opportunity to sell their enormous inventory of products online in a safe, secure and reliable shopping environment. These opportunities however don't come without some level of risk to our privacy and personal financial information.

The aim of OneStopWonders is to provide consumers with a directory of safe, secure and reliable internet shopping sites. We want to make it easier for consumers to find other perhaps less well known online retailers that also share the same ideals as the larger corporations when it comes to consumer protection online. Of course many Top 500 Internet Retailers can also be found in our directory. All retailers we select to include we believe have the capability of providing consumers with a safe, secure and reliable shopping experience. These retailers must contain a secure shopping cart, a published return policy and guarantee, email communication confirming purchase and delivery of goods or services, as well as access to a reliable customer support network. We believe that if a website selling online doesn't have these features then the risk to consumers increases. We want to minimize that level of risk to shoppers to give them confidence when buying online.

OneStopWonders.com is owned and managed by Lloyd & Rebecca Dawber. The reason we created this directory was because of a bad experience we had when we first started using the Internet. These days, before we order anything online we always look first for things like how safe the retailers shopping cart is and who certifies its security, what return policy and guarantees the website has as well as the customer support offered after we pay them. This behaviour has helped us avoid dealing with questionable retailers and we're sure it has saved us money. It does take longer to follow these principles, but the effort is certainly worth it. We hope that all consumers will take advantage of our shopping directory and even help us grow it.

There is no cost to any retailer for being in our family friendly directory. Many of the sites we have added to this directory have been found whilst doing our own online research for things we have considered buying online. We also found that Commission Junction also has an excellent selection process that uses the same criteria for testing new advertisers in the area of shopper security, therefore many of the websites have come from here. We also discovered that the Top 500 Internet Retailers is also an excellent source for learning more about individual retailers and their Security Certification. We therefore never approach retailers and offer to add their site for a fee. If you know of a website or operate a website that you believe should be included in our directory, please contact us to have it reviewed for inclusion. If we agree it will be added within 4 to 6 weeks. Please note that all sites are hand-reviewed, before being added to our database and we automatically exclude sites that contain pornography, pornographic or adult advertising, erotica or adult-only content, gratuitous or graphic violence, material that infringes on or violates someone's rights, or material that promotes illegal activities. Our directory also contains no template or blog sites. Consideration of informational blogs and directories may change in the future however at this time these sites are rejected because of our primary aim to provide consumers with a directory of safe, secure and reliable internet retailer shopping sites.
